Wonderful attic discoveries - part 1

Posted on: 2006-10-11 23:11:22 - Comments (2)

The day before yesterday my dad found his old camera on the attic. "WW2 was not even 15 years away"-old, 1962. I stole it, and put it on my desk for futher investigation. After installing and connecting the right accessoires I got this:

Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super

The "thing" is called Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super. It's a heavy, not-even-close-ergononomic, analoge photo camera. But since "Heavy is good... Heavy is reliable... If it doesn't work, you can always hit with it." (advice from Boris the Blade), I would say it's a steady camera. We even tried it in action.

Camera in action

Some information on the camera. Some more information on the camera.

I try to take some pictures with it in the coming week, but I need to study the thing first. And even if I did, the pictures need to be interesting enough to post on this blog. You are free to leave suggestions as a comment.

Hey! that guy in orange looks familiar! Nice cam. Although I believe a space shuttle is easier to operate than this a contaflex. All those dials: Turning one moves the other. Turning the other doesnt move the first one. argh!
