Switch to Dvorak
Dvorak, you have no idea what I'm going through.
A couple days ago I read a news post on slashdot about this different keyboard layout. It was fast and quick and more efficient. See, QWERTY was developed for old typewriters and because those pins used to jam all the time, they made the keyboard layout as inefficient and slow as possible to reduce jams.
But do you or I use an old typewriter? Does anybody uses those old things? I don't and you aren't probably neither. So why use this old way of typing?
The same August Dvorak thought, he developed a scientific method of typing. The most used keys are in the middle, thus gaining speed and efficiency. So what crazy thing did I do? That's right, I switched.
It has been almost a week now and I wonder if I am doing something wrong. Reading about this subject on the net, I came across a guys website which noted that it took him 2 weeks to get on his old speed. Or he typed really slow or I typed really fast (I know more scenario's are possible, but you get the point). Anyway, I still type like a one handed man.
This post took me like 60 minutes to type. Lets hope it gets faster fast.
Too bad that all l33tnes of a alternative layout is subdued by your choice of hardware though :P
