Bogotà and Cartagena

Posted on: 2008-08-24 02:53:52

Cartagena and ColombiaBecause I don`t have enough pictures of Bogotà I emerged them with Cartagena. As on the subject of time line, Bogotà - Tayrona Park - Cartagena.

Tayrona Park

Posted on: 2008-08-24 02:53:34

Tayrona ParkWhite beaches. Clear water. Warm water. Hammocks. Fish and chips. Beer.

What else can I say?

Ecuador

Posted on: 2008-08-24 02:49:51

EcuadorQuito is a stunning metropol and the capital of Ecuador. Just 27 km below the equator it stands on the southern hemisphere of the world. Living in an apartment with some friends I had a great time here.

Kuèlap

Posted on: 2008-08-02 00:40:51

KuèlapOnly surpassed by Machu Picchu, Kuèlap is a old site dating back to 800 AD in the north of Peru. Although excavation has stopped, because of lack of money, enough is there to be seen to make a visit worthwhile. Cheap tours, a three hour ride away and not touristy at all, Kuèlap is a must see for the serious Peru explorer.

Amazone boat trip

Posted on: 2008-07-22 19:21:37

Amazone boat trip with Henry 5A boat trip over the Amazone is always a remarkable experience. The pictures are bad, the story is okey, but the idea of having it done is good. Although I am glad it is over.

Machu Picchu

Posted on: 2008-07-09 21:57:04

Machu PicchuSince short one of the new 7 world miracles. A visit to Peru, isn´t a visit without seeing Machu Picchu. Builded by the Inca´s and left before the spanish found it, it is intact as much as possible for the now day tourist. I enjoyed it, I hope you do too, through my pictures.

Nazca Lines

Posted on: 2008-07-09 21:53:16

Nazca LinesYears ago, some old (or was it young pranksters) decided to draw into the ground. Since it doesn´t rain a lot, and they did it pretty deep, after 800 or so years you can still see them. Flying over them might be a cool idea, but it wasn´t. Waste of money!

Colca canyon

Posted on: 2008-07-09 21:50:53

Colca CanyonThe second deepest canyon in the world. Although the deepest was only 150 km away, I didn´t really care for the extra 150 meters. You cannot capture depth in pictures anyway, so it might not look impressive. But believe me, when you are actually standing on the edge of the (second) deepest canyon of the world, it is deep.

Santa Catalina Monastery

Convent Santa Catalina MonasteryThe story is already written, here are the photos. A lot of red fancy houses where nons used to live.

Copacabana - Bolivia

Posted on: 2008-06-02 01:33:56

Copacabana in BoliviaCopacabana might be the most expensive and famous beach in the world. Bolivia has it´s own Copacabana. A bit colder and higher, but situated on the highest lake of the world (Titicaca).

Pampas - Rurrenbaque

Posted on: 2008-06-02 01:17:09

Pampas tourFrom La Paz, you take an 18 hour bus ride into the jungle. Very bumpy because it is over gravel for 14 hours. And the buses in Bolivia are not what I am used to, after Argentina.

From there a boat trip over the river, into the pampas/jungle to spot animals and live the wild life.

Death Road

Posted on: 2008-06-02 00:52:20

Bikes for Death RoadDeath Road. First the story, now some pictures. I don´t really have some pictures where you can see the height clearly, but sometimes it gets up to cliffs of 400 meters.

Huayna Potosi - 6088m

Posted on: 2008-04-13 21:13:49

Huayna PotosiHuayna Potosi - 6088 meters high. As you can see on the first picture, the track is from 4700m to 5130 and then continues the next day to 6088.

Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro- TikalSao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The biggest and the most popular. The beauty and the beast. The city and the "town".

Guatemala - Tikal

Posted on: 2008-01-08 18:23:54

Guatemala - TikalTikal. The biggest of the Maya sites. The most mysterious one, where jungle has overtaken and myst is forever. Nobody goes here, only the bravest and strongest... Oh and tons and tons of tourists.

Guatemala - Antigua, Pacaya, Livingstone, Semuc Champey

Posted on: 2008-01-06 17:33:18

Guatemala, Antigua, PacayaThe next group of pictures taken in beautiful Guatemala. This time stare at Pacaya, some really hot lava and old building in Antigua.

Guatemala - Lago Atitlan

Posted on: 2007-12-20 18:09:41

GuatemalaGuatemala, the country of the Maya's, the country of spanish invasion, the country of Lago Atitlan.

According to Aldous Huxley: "Atitlan is an embellishment of several immense volcanoes. It is really too much off a good thing. After a few days of this impossible landscape one finds oneself thinking nostalgically of the English Home Counties."

Enjoy the colorfull pictures.

Climbing 50 meters high

Posted on: 2007-04-14 15:37:33

Climbing LiegeI guess Belgium is cool, 'cause I went there again! Three photo shoots in a row now, which where taken in Belgium.

This time we drove 30 km beneath Luik (Liege) and climbing this 60m high wall. I was nuts enough to take my camera all the way up, though securing it safely every time I needed to climb, and thus had the opportunity to take pictures of all the others.

Antwerpen

Posted on: 2007-03-31 17:58:01

Antwerpen HarbourOn a trip to Belgium we came across the harbour of Antwerpen. After we jumped out of the car, grabbed our camera's and grasped the idea of all the photo opportunities we were gonna get, we started taking pictures.

Pictures of boats, bridges and old "stuff". And this is the best what I could get up too.

If you would like to see what photos my photo-buddy made, look here.
